The career in Food Planning as Nutritionist:

At present looking towards good health, a better nutritionist and dietician is required. Dietetics is science which teaches how a person can be fit and maintain good health.A nutritionist is food planning expert. The way there is the change in the eating habits of people the demand for Dietetics has increased, and their work is to prepare food chart according to the physical and mental balance of the individual.

Types of Course :

For dietetics and nutrition, there is P.G level and Graduation related many courses are available. Except this many institutes have diploma and certificate courses also. Main courses are B.SC in food and nutrition, certificate course in nutrition and child care, diploma in nutrition and health science, diploma in sports science and nutrition, M.SC in applied nutrition, P.HD.

In food and nutrition, P.G. diploma in clinical nutrition, etc. Many courses related to research is also available. To become dietician medical background is not required. Buts still medical students can do better in this field. If you want to make the better career in this area than P.G. course is compulsory.

Qualification Required:

For Doing B.SC in nutrition and dietetics, it shall be binding that student must have passed 10+2 from science stream with subjects of Biology and Home Science. The course of food science is of 3 to 4 years at graduation level and two years at P.G. level.

If you are willing to do post graduation in dietetics, then your graduation should be done any of these topics: home science, catering technology, food science, bio chemistry, agriculture, medicine, etc.

Opportunities :

Food specialist appointed at hospitals, sports club, hotels, school, health department, food manufactures, etc. Except for job they can also start their private practice, even teaching is also a better option.
